Boys basketball is open to any boy enrolled at St. George in grades 3rd-8th. All teams will play in the CSAA League and may play in several tournaments throughout the season.
Boys in grades 6th-8th will be offered the opportunity to try out and earn a position on a CSAA Varsity basketball team to play on a competitive level. These teams will play approximately 25-30 games December-early March, including tournaments. Any boy in 6th-8th grade not selected for the Varsity school team, will be given the opportunity to play CSAA basketball in a slightly less competitive environment on a Junior Varsity Team. Multiple JV teams per grade level may be formed based on the number of boys wanting to participate. These players work just as hard to compete and win as a team. These teams generally will play 15-20 games January-early March, including tournaments. Games for both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams are held at the various Catholic Schools on school nights and some weekends.
Boys in 3rd-5th grade will play in the Developmental CSAA league, multiple teams will be evenly formed based on talent per grade level. Games are held December-beginning of February at various Catholic Schools on school nights and some weekends.
Practices for all teams will be held at the discretion of the coaches and based on the availability of the St. George gym.
